I first got into photography when I was handed my mothers old digital camera, a Nikon 1 J1. I used this camera to prove the age-old adage that says that the gear you have doesn’t matter, what matters is how you use it – and so I put this age-worn digital camera to good use photographing my school’s volleyball team. Now, unlucky for them, what I lacked in gear I did not make up for in skill. So I must thank them for their graceful patience while I built up that skill, and while I saved up to buy my first real camera.

My Fujifilm X-T2 is by far my most priced possession. I’ve taken it everywhere: from the Serengueti to the Pyrenees, from the great pyramids of Giza to the Sagrada Família. It has been the Mont Blanc fountain pen to my photographic journal and its film simulations continue to inspire me, even as I acquired the Minolta X700, and begun burning money faster than I could make it.
